🥇 A Gold Worth Waiting For

This weekend in Ås, our Halden Skiklubb junior girls wrote a golden story at the Norwegian Relay Championships. With a little drama in the final leg (because what’s a championship without some suspense?), the dream team of Marie Scheele, Minna Wingsted, and Sigrid Schmitt Gran brought home the victory!

And this medal tastes extra sweet. Why? Because watching Minna and Sigrid’s journey has been nothing short of inspiring. When I first met them six years ago, they were two shy little girls just starting their adventure in orienteering. Fast forward to today: they are among the very best junior runners in one of the most competitive orienteering nations in the world. Their progress has been phenomenal, their potential is still huge, and honestly… their ceiling is unknown. Marie has joined us only this season, but has contributed decisively to our growth as a team as well!

But this success is not a coincidence. It is the result of a well-structured club philosophy, where athletes are carefully guided step by step, nurtured with patience, and given the right challenges at the right time. Halden SK has always believed in building from the ground up, and today’s gold is living proof of that.

I couldn’t be prouder of these girls and what they are achieving. Being part of this club and witnessing their growth is truly an honor.

Big thanks to Terje W. Pettersen for capturing such unforgettable moments with his photos.
