🍂 25-Manna: The spirit of a true club

When autumn paints the forests around Stockholm in gold and red, every orienteer knows what time it is. The season is coming to an end, and that can only mean one thing: 25-Manna.

The 25-Manna is not just another relay. It is a celebration of what club orienteering truly means. It brings together youth, veterans, men, women, elites, and beginners. It is the one day of the year when the strength of a club is not measured by one star runner, but by the collective power of 25 hearts beating for the same goal.

This year, once again, Halden SK showed what that spirit really looks like. Ninety people, three teams, one double-decker bus full of laughter, snacks, and pure energy. A weekend of golden forests, muddy shoes, and proud faces.

The challenge of perfection

Running through 25 legs without big mistakes is always the biggest challenge. Stability, focus, and calm are key words. Every year, top clubs fall along the way due to a single misspunch or a moment of confusion. This edition was no exception. OK Linné was out already on the first leg, and Nydalens SK lost it in the penultimate control of the very last leg. That is the cruel beauty of orienteering.

The fight for the top

Halden SK’s first team delivered another outstanding performance, fighting all the way among the best and finishing in 4th place, just a breath away from the podium. This marks the third year in a row that Halden SK finishes inside the Top 10, a clear sign of consistency and depth.

4th place for HSK – represented by the youngest of the team: Joel and Ville.

Even more, it means that Halden SK was once again the best Norwegian club, even if this time it came in a bittersweet way after the disqualification of Nydalens SK, who had been in the battle for medals until the very end. But this is sport, and small details make the difference.

The power of depth

Behind the first team came another success story. Team 2 finished 36th, the best result ever achieved by our second team, a performance that shows how strong the club is becoming across all levels. The third team, although disqualified, brought several debuts and valuable experience for the younger athletes. That is how future success is built.

The dominance of IFK Göteborg

This year’s relay had a clear ruler. IFK Göteborg delivered a masterclass from start to finish, showing exceptional depth, stability, and confidence. They controlled the race with impressive precision and opened a decisive gap in the final legs, winning by more than five minutes ahead of Tampereen Pyrintö and Helsingin Suunnistajat, who completed the podium. A truly deserved victory for IFK Göteborg. Congratulations!
