Only 1 day left for Round-1 of the World Orienteering Cup kicks off in Olten (Switzerland)!! Exciting!!
It was not planned before, but I couldn’t avoid sharing one more simulation leg after the great reception of the previous posts. We come back to the most interesting area of the Olten map, where the final rounds (especially the semifinal and the final) of the Knockout will take place.
Some extra fences make the route choices more difficult, and many options are open. Can you find the optimal route? Draw it by clicking the link below.

On this leg, the shortest and fastest option is “C” with 461m, even if requires some precise mapreading at the beginning of the leg, and also some upstairs (not so steep) at the last part. The routes B/C/D are quite equal among themselves (plus 20m approx.), and the option E is clearly there worst.
